In one of my previous posts, I had mentioned a Firefox Addon which lets us visit forums and restricted parts of websites by changing the user-agent to a search Bot. This is another way of bypassing the signing up part on websites, the difference here is that you will get a legitimate ID and password to login and participate, without letting the website spam your mailbox(there will be none!). The Firefox addon lets you enter in “read-only” mode as I like to call it.
These services provide us with temporary Email addresses, which are valid for different amounts of time depending on the service you chose. There are many such services available. I have listed the best five.
-
10 Minute Mail
This is one disposable mail I use frequently. It lets you create a simple 10 minutes valid email. All you need to to is visit the homepage. You get a ready-made Email with your inbox shown on the same page. All your mail comes to the inbox on the same page. You just need to keep the page open for the next 10 minutes. That is long enough to register to around two sites even on a very slow connection. If you really feel the need, you can extend your time limit by another 10 minutes and so on. -
my Trash Mail
This is another temporary mail service with a lot of features. In addition to the one click temporary Email, it lets you create secure Emails requiring a password as well. For the rest, it has all the features of a temporary mail service. Only, the temporary mailbox here, is valid for around 2 to 3 hours. -
Mailinator
Mailinator has a number of alternate domains. Alongside that, it has options for checking mail through RSS and a site widget you can put on a private page. The alternate domains let you get around sites which have blocked the mailinator domain Email. Also, unlike other timed services, it limits your mailbox capacity to 10 mails and your mailbox is valid forever. -
Spambox
This is another temporary mail service which lets you choose the mailbox lifespan to a limit of upto 1 year, starting from 30 minutes. Also, it includes options to extend the mailbox life and to delete it if you do not want to use the service anymore. -
Guerilla Mail
This is the last but a really good service in this list of five. It includes an on page mailbox, with option of extending the life of the mailbox by one hour anytime. There is a countdown timer on the page as well. It also has options for you to generate an ID as well as set a custom ID.
None of these sites require any registration and are absolutely free of charge.
