WWT is a web2.0 service which lets you view the night sky from telescopes over the earth as well as in space. It runs on the Microsoft’s own Silverlight technology and runs within a browser. The service takes you to a journey through the stars which is guided by educators and astronomers. You can pause the tour as well as take a detour if you feel like.

This one service from Microsoft is a reply to Google earth and Google moon combined. This WWT has been created with Microsoft® high performance Visual Experience Engine™, delivering state-of-the-art graphics rendering.
The software reads through terabytes of images, information and is totally free of cost as of now. This software can also show a clear image of the sky at any-place on earth.
The application needed for this to work on, is available at the homepage itself. Get WWT here: World Wide telescope (Around 30MB)
