yahoo microsoft deal
Microsoft and yahoo are close to yet another search and advertising deal, this time though, the deal has moved a lot further and there are final talks already taking place at the Silicon Valley for the launch of the deal. The deal much smaller in size than the last one, is for yahoo to take over Microsoft’s search advertising business for a fair payment of some billion dollars upfront. It is speculated that the deal will be announced anytime next week.
Google has the largest share of search advertising market around the web, followed by Yahoo, but this new deal will put Microsoft in league with them. After the last deals disaster, let us all hope things go well this time. This move will not only give Google some competition, it might also lighten up some rigid Google policies on advertising resulting from the monopoly.
Given the success of bing, the time has never been better for such a move and the popularity of the search engine will act as a catalyst in the deal’s success.
