Nokia has recently announced its latest X series handset – the X2. The handset features a 5MP Camera at an unbelievable price of Rs 5,000. X2 also known as X2-00, will be available in the stores by the end of June this year. It is not even a week since Nokia announced its Vasco, and it has already come up with another marvelous affordable handset in the form of X2.

Nokia X2 looks good and feels great with its curved back and glossy finish. It features a 2.2-inch QVGA display and is amazingly light-weighted at just 81g.

The Nokia X2-00 should also appeal to music lovers as it comes with MP3 player that can support nearly all media formats. It also features a dual speakers, dedicated music keys and FM stereo radio. Check out complete Nokia X2 specifications for more details.

Full Nokia X2 Specs

The Nokia X2 will come in two exciting color combinations: Silver with light green and black with red.

Verdict

Nokia has come up with whopping features in X2 with a price tag of Indian Rupees 5,000 only. The handset should definitely call for more customers as it offers an excellent 5Mp camera with 4X zoom. The keypad is a bit difficult to use but it is acceptable given the price of Rs 5,000. X2 has certainly entered into one of my favorite budget phones category. What about you? Do let us know.

Nokia N8 - Vasco to be announced at MWC (Mobile World Congress) has a new version of the Symbian OS: Symbian^3. Nokia has now official launched the N800 Vasco.

For the last seven to eight weeks, Nokia N8 aka Vasco is buzzing through the blogosphere. Though, the Finnish handset maker has been constantly delaying the official launch of this much hyped product. Nokia N800, N98 or Nokia N8-00, popularly known as Nokia N8 – Vasco features the latest version of the Symbian Operating System – Symbian^3. This is the much anticipated update for the Symbian S60 OS. Initially to be announced during MWC (Mobile World Congress) in the month of February this year, the official launch was later delayed. This delay has definitely helped Nokia create a lot of buzz before the handset was available in the market.

Nokia N8 is a 3.5-inch touchscreen phone with a multi-touch interface and gestures. The build of the phone is quite good but unfortunately, the screen build doesn’t seem to be compact. There is a good chance for dust to enter the phones touchscreen just like in Nokia X6.

Vasco boasts a 12MP camera featuring Xenon flash which is capable of recording HD (720p) video at 30 FPS. According to sources, the camera is slightly better than that of Sony Ericsson Satio’s 12 MP. The camera`s features stand out but does not compliment the design. The phone seriously lacks a camera cover. Hence, there is a high probability of the lens being blotted.

Moreover, Vasco`s HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) port does not feature a standard connector. That can again create a trouble, as it won`t be possible to connect it through the classic HDMI cables.

Final Verdict

It seems like Nokia did not do its homework well. There are various other better looking touch screen devices currently in the market. For example, Sony Ericsson Vivaz and XperiaX10 look much better and run a lot faster as well. They also feature the latest operating systems. However, the one feature that stands out in Nokia N8 Vasco is its powerful camera. The latest version of Symbian OS is also worth checking out. Symbian^3 extends Symbian^2 in many ways. It includes graphics support for advanced layering and effects. Symbian^3s full HDMI support makes it ideal for streaming high definition audio and video.

On the whole, I am quite disappointed with this phone’s feature list. Moreover, it is losing out in the smartphone race because of this delay. There is already a huge craze for Android and iPhone devices in the market currently. Finally, just for a reminder, Nokia has finally, officially announced the N8 Vasco.

This is one of those rumours that come true – Nokia’s new flagship internet tablet, N900, is now a sure reality. With it’s sleek design and awesome features, N900 a.k.a. ‘Rover’ is going to be the talk of the show next month. Though Nokia has not said much, many sites are ablaze with it’s leaked pics.

Nokia has said nothing about it’s specs, but guessing from it’s pics, some of it’s details are:

Dimensions : 59.7mm x 111mm x 18.2mm

Weight : 180g

OS : Maemo 5

1GB total virtual runtime memory

T1 OMAP3430 500/600 MHz processor

Wi-Fi, HSPA, GPS, HSCSD, accelerometer

Proximity sensor

3.5-inch 800×480 (WVGA) touchscreen(comes through from N97)

A 5.0 MP Carl Zeiss camera with dual-LED flash, auto-focus and sliding cover

16 GB internal memory and extendable miniSDHC slot for more

A hell of a beast if you ask me. The processor may seem a bit slow but don’t get worked up at that. Maemo 5 is amazingly light and 600 MHz’s is more than enough to multi-task.

You can run Ngage games on Symbian S60v2 phones. This is a tutorial to install the popular game Rayman and an explorer on Nokai Symbian S60v3 phones.

N-gage QD set the world on fire when it was launched. It features a full gaming deck with lots of awesome games to go with it! The NGage system was built over Symbian. It had a tweaked s60v2 OS- no themes, no extra support, nothing heavy. It was light as hell, meant only for gaming.
Though, what bothers me now is that even newer and faster phones(like N72) cannot directly support n-gage games.
But, who cares for support? We are here to hack. Over my next few steps, I’ll tell you how to run N-gage games on them on general Symbian based cellphones.

Note that we are playing with system files here, so follow the instructions closely in order to avoid corrupting other applications.

Ill start with my favorite game,

Rayman 3

Follow the steps carefully :

Install a good explorer software ( like Xplore, FExplorer or ActiveFile 3D). Set the settings so that all hidden and system files are visible.

Go to E:/system/apps/ and copy the whole folder of the game ( except the lib files over here). Your directory should now look like E:/system/apps/RAYMAN3.

copy all dll files into E:/system/libs. If any of these files already exists, do not overwrite. Instead, copy them to the apps/RAYMAN3 folder. Do not copy GAMECOMMS.dll to /libs. Copy it directly to /RAYMAN3. You might end up spoiling your phone.

Close any running application except your explorer and run the file RAYMAN3.app in apps/RAYMAN3/ folder

Enjoy your game.

NOTE : You can’t play this game in multiplayer mode on any other phone except QD. The phone might hang.
