Want to test your web surfing expertise? Play the new Bing game. Microsoft has recently started a new Bing Pagehunt game based on the Silverlight technology. This service is similar to Google image labeler or the service which allows you to personalize search results moving pages up in a search result and was launched at the SIGIR09 conference in Boston. The only difference is that Microsoft took care to make a game out of it. That way, it can create a free database of user requirements and search behaviour. Clever. WWT
WWT is a web2.0 service which lets you view the night sky from telescopes over the earth as well as in space. It runs on the Microsoft’s own silverlight technology and runs within a browser. The service takes you to a journey through the stars which is guided by educators and astronomers. You can pause the tour as well as take a detour if you feel like.

Google has introduced new comics themes for your personalized Google page of iGoogle. They include themes from all time comic-world legends like Popeye, Garfield, Superman, The Hulk, Vertigo etc to manga and a huge collection. Youtube 3-D video

YouTube is experimenting 3-D videos. With a new Stereoscopic player developed to view the videos, the experimental feature is sure drawing a lot of attention.

Microsoft Open Source
Microsoft has released around 20,000 lines of code for inclusion to Linux for better compatibility with it’s Windows Server 2008 and Hyper-V Server 2008 virtualization software. The code will be available to both the Linux core as well as Linux users and includes three device drivers hooks and not the device drivers itself as reported at many places( Microsoft will never write Linux a device driver).
