Apple has taken a decisive step in its iPhone 4 sales. From today, it is selling unlocked iPhone 4 besides carrier locked iPhone 4 devices. The carrier locking ensures that you cannot use the particular phone on any other network than the one it has been locked for. Apple has sold the unlocked iPhone only in selected countries until now.

A new addition to this list of countries is the United States. Finally, people in the US can buy officially unlocked Apple iPhone 4 devices and this is a welcome move from Apple. You can get an unlocked Apple iPhone 4 off the shelves at any Apple store or get it online.
The tweet by ChronicWire announcing this was spotted as the first source for this news.

Apple has also release the unlocked iPhone 4 in UK, Canada and France and you can keep an eye on this well compiled page for more info on the unlocked iPhone 4 and its prices. The unlocked Apple iPhone is available in both black and white and hopefully, Apple will continue releasing unlocked iPhone in future versions as well.
The only problem here is that the iPhone 4 will work only with micro SIM cards and you will have to cut out your SIM to create a micro-SIM. This YouTube video might come to your rescue.
