A long wait for Linux users finally gets over as Ubuntu finally releases its 10.04 Lucid Lynx LTS version. Earlier, the beta version of Ubuntu was announced at the Atlanta Linux Fest in September 2009. The latest version features the latest GNOME desktop environment with a number of cool features worth checking out.

The removal of HAL from boot process has made it faster to boot. Moreover, the improved nVidia graphics drivers is sure to give a boost to gamers. Ubuntu 10.04 also differs from previous version in installing applications. In earlier versions, the installation required downloads to occur first. Though now, both downloading and installation can occur side by side. Kubuntu 10.04 has also been released and it comes with a long term support (LTS) and features the new KDE 4.4.
Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx is now available for download for both 32bit and 64bit PCs. There is however a small bug which may not allow 64-bit users to install from a single CD. Still, you can install Ubuntu Lucid Lynx with the help of a DVD, USB Drive or Virtual machine.
